Central America

In the summer of 2011, I lived on a ship in the Caribbean Sea while studying with Semester at Sea. We visited many of the surrounding countries and I learned just how incredible people around the world are - this was hands down the most pivotal travel experience of my life. Central America’s rich mix of cultures has created an inspiring, dynamic society near the equator. The Spanish influence is obvious, with majestic plazas and silent hours of siesta, while a vibrant African culture fills the Caribbean coast. In 2017, I was also able to visit Cuba, which despite many years of setbacks remains a bold and beautiful nation.
